Polish Theatre travelling - Fall 2010

This fall many Polish performances will tour around Europe. Here you will find an agenda of presentations.

«The autumn series of presentations of Polish theatre abroad will be started by TR Warszawa. "No Matter How Hard We Tried", a play by Dorota Masłowska staged by Grzegorz Jarzyna will be presented in August in Helsinki, Finland, during the Helsinki Theatre Festival.

In the same festival there will be a chance to see another play by Masłowska produced in Lithuaniana - "Two Poor Romanians Speaking LT" (originally "Two Poor Polish Speaking Romanians").

Another chance to see a Polish piece will belong to the Frenchmen. "Factory 2" directed by Krystian Lupa from Stary Teatr in Krakow, an amazing, largely improvised production about Andy Warhol's Factory will be presented in Paris, during Festival d'Automne.

Another Grzegorz Jarzyna's production from TR Warszawa - "T.E.O.R.E.M.A.T." based on the work of Pier Paolo Pasolini will start its tour with a presentation within the Bitef Festival in Belgrade, Serbia. A mysterious story of a stranger visiting a family and waking demons, gained applause and international acclaim.

A production of Stary Teatr in Krakow - J.W. Goethe's "Werther" directed by Michał Borczuch will take a long trip to Omsk, to take part in the Academia International Theatre Festival.

"Samsara Disco", a mixture of Chekhov's "Ivanov" and Pelevin's "The Life of Insects" directed by Agnieszka Olsten in Polski Theatre in Wrocław goes to Divadelna Nitra Festival in Slovakia.

This year Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival in Dublin, Ireland will hold a large presentation of Polish theatre. The audiences will have a chance to see "Factory 2", "T.E.O.R.E.M.A.T.", and "Danton Case" - a production from Polski Theatre in Wrocław directed by Jan Klata. The Festival will also present Lost In Translation, a programme which will investigate contemporary Polish culture and its relationship with Ireland, featuring films, concerts, multi-media projects and a one-day symposium.
