National Theatre invites for performences with english surtitles

Two symbolic characters: Marat, a martyr and symbol of the French Revolution, and Marquis de Sade, an incarnation of relentless pursuit of pleasure. Do the most important changes occur within the society or within an individual? One of the most turbulent plays of the 1960s in a new interpretation.

The title character is an ambitious man who took up too many challenges in life. Consumed by painful guilt, he finds himself unable to cope with an ever-growing array of crises. He cannot communicate with his wife, rejects his young lover's affection, loses his friends and runs into debts.
